Of course THEY can get away with it...

Two weeks ago I got stopped by the police, and for the first time in my life I was given a fine. Why? Because I commited the henious crime of walking across the road while the light was red, and a cop just happened to be skulking behind a post waiting for people to do just that.

It's a busy road just off the Queen Street Mall, for those of you familiar with Brisbane; close to everyone walks across it when there's no traffic coming, and I'd done it a few times before I was caught on that day; it's just something you don't think about when everyone else around you is doing the same thing.

Long story short, I've had a perfect record with the police my whole life; never been in any trouble at all. And at the time I'd felt like I had a huge black mark against my name, I felt like a criminal. Granted, the fine was only $40, but that's a lot of money to someone like me, being a full-time student and all.

Anyway, I got over it a few days later, and things went back to normal. I wouldn't have even mentioned the incident again, if I hadn't seen what I had today.

I was walking to college just a few minutes ago, and at the exact same spot I'd been caught walking across the road on a red light were two police officers coming towards me. TWO of them; they weren't in any hurry, they were just walking along chatting amongst themselves.

And what did these two officers do? They walked across the road when the light was red. The same place where I'd been caught, fined, and embarrassed to hell and back just a few weeks earlier. I didn't see anyone stop and give them a fine for it.

Of course, THEY can get away with it though, can't they? Nice job upholding the law by breaking it in front of everyone, guys.

gar

"God will not halt me."
GAR is a term for an anime character archtype, similar to moe or tsundere. Character archtypes are usually very complicated to explain plainly and better to experience.

GAR characters frequently appear in Shounen anime, or anime intended for boys. It is also consequently usually applied to male characters although there are instances when females have been called GAR.
